International Training Course on DRUG AND THERAPEUTIC COMMITTEES Yogyakarta, Indonesia, June 20-27th 2001 This seven day course will be hosted by the Centre for Clinical Pharmacology and Drug Policy, Gadjah Mada University, in collaboration with the Management Sciences for Health, and the Department of Essential Drugs and Medicines Policy of WHO Geneva. The course is designed for physicians, pharmacists, and health officials in hospitals, ministries of health, universities or private organizations. Those who are interested in improving the rational use of drugs through drug and therapeutic committees (DTCs), and who will be in a position to provide training and technical assistance to other DTCs, are invited to apply. Candidates with some experience of drug and therapeutic committees, and who wish to expand their knowledge, are preferred. more »



Drug Policy Issues for Developing Countries Yogyakarta, October 29 – November 09, 2001 This two-week seminar is intended for policy makers and senior managers responsible for pharmaceutical systems in developing countries, and for senior officials of funding agencies. The faculty is drawn from the World Health Organization, and from universities in the United States, South Africa, Indonesia, and Australia. The seminar's workshop format will combine lectures, in-depth discussion of case studies, field trips, and small-group exercises. Enrollment is limited to facilitate maximum interaction among participants and between participants and faculty. There will be several field visits to hospitals and other health facilities and to community pharmacies. Previous seminars have been held in USA, Africa, India, and Lebanon. more »
